Fiona has been creating group shots for over 20 years. Based in London she has photographed a wide range of groups
for both editorial and commercial clients all over the world.
Whether it's in the boardroom or a rock band a good group shot can communicate so much about a group of people,
their relationships with each other the way they project themselves and their work.
excellent skills for getting the attention of large groups
A misspent youth as a stand up comedian gave her some excellent skills for getting the attention of large groups of people and then entertaining them enough to keep it. From persuading the lovely women in Marie Claire's “Bottom Monologue” to take all their clothes off and lighting the very talented Punch Drunk in a dim but sumptuous opium den for Vogue to getting 350 school children to all look at her at the same time. It requires very careful art direction and choreography which she have developed over the years.
As a photographer being friendly and able to make good connections quickly with people is essential, when you are dealing with a group you need to connect with everyone making them feel relaxed and engaged with the process. People are her passion and arranging them to show the best of each individual and really communicate their strength as a group is the dynamic that inspires her.
She is as at home shooting in a high end London studio as a tiny Peruvian village, and as comfortable with the famous and infamous as the elderly and disadvantaged.
"Fiona is a highly competent and professional photographer who is great fun to work with. She made some excellent suggestions for backgrounds and group photos in particular and the turnaround and editing was quick and smoothly done. We are delighted with the quality of the photos and would happily use her in the future."
