We had a fantastic launch event for Pride in June at the Team GB offices. Surrounded by memorabilia and images from past Olympic Games. And joined by an array of sports people and sports professionals, it was the perfect way to launch SportingQueer.
It always feels so good when all our hard work goes on display. SportingQueer celebrates everyone in sport from double Olympic gold medallist Kelly Holmes to amazing grass roots organisations like LDN Riders. Fiona spoke about how inspiring it has been to meet and photograph so many elite athletes and dedicated people who’s whole life and work has been about encouraging more people to get involved in sport. There was a great deal of discussion about how sport can help build and strengthen communities and how important inclusivity is in all sport. A wonderful evening especially as we had just found out, and we were able to announce, that SportingQueer would be on display at the Paris Olympics!
