Fiona’s portriat of Leigh Bowery at the Tate!

Fiona is beyond proud to be part of the incredible Leigh Bowery! show at the Tate Modern.

Leigh was a groundbreaking artist, fashion and costume designer, outrageous performance artist and muse. She loved his looks and admired him from afar at Kinky Gerlinky and Rage, the glorious dressing up clubs of the late 80s and early 90s. This picture of Leigh Bowery parodying the original Wonderbra ad, is where using photography to make change all began for Fiona. In 1994 she was enraged by the sexism of the original and felt compelled to reply.

Getting to work with him and create this image was a dream come true.

He died 2 months later, and the world lost a unique talent.

Leigh Bowery poses as Eva Herzigová from the origianal Wonderbra ad.

With huge thanks to James Pretlove and Michael Olivera-Salac at BLOW magazine who brought us together and Fiontán Bleau Moran the Tates' curator for showing the work like a billboard - as it was meant to be.
